Jewelry Fashion: Do’s and Don’ts

With Fashion Week beginning, it is best to keep these few tips in mind when choosing your jewelry. Or, maybe you have to do some last minute jewelry shopping for Fashion Week. Please read this before you go to any jewelry shop!

Do: Purchase Jewelry for various outfits.

Look for versatile jewelry pieces. Paying $400 dollars for one necklace that will only go with one casual dress is not a good idea. Choose pieces of jewelry that will go with many outfits in your closet. (This rule excludes major events such as a red carpet affair)

Do: Understand what type of necklaces and earrings fit your face.

Scope out pieces that compliment your lovely face. No matter how exquisite a necklace is, if it doesn’t fit your face, put it down!

Do: Mix Those Metals

The vintage and dusty rule is long gone. Mixing metals whispers your style and personality. Therefore, go ahead, mix that bronze with silver.

Don’t Be Too Big with Accessories

Wearing a big ring with long nails and a big gaudy bag, screams drag queen. Little goes a long way. Even if you like big and bold styles, there is a limit!

Don’t Wear your Pearls on Freshly Wet Skin

Whether you just put on lotion or perfume, it is best to wait a few moments. The acid (especially citric acid) causes your pearls to chip after awhile or dull the color.

Have a great time at Fashion Week!
